Groove Culture in Action
Music. Movement. Mindfulness. Community. Groove is not a genre. It is how people remember they belong to each other.
Groove Culture is the creative culture studio of Ivan Touko, also known as AMOUGIVAN. Cameroonian-Canadian movement facilitator, TEDx speaker, DJ, and culture builder based in Edmonton, Alberta and Victoria, BC. He has taught in Sweden, Mexico, and all over Canada.
From workshops to nightlife to corporate wellness, every experience is built to help people feel more present and connected. More alive.
Why people come
Corporate teams looking for trust and real cohesion
Community groups craving joyful connection
Schools and residencies rooted in culture
Festivals, retreats, and creative gatherings
Core belief
Groove creates cohesion.
The studio
A culture studio, not just a dance brand.
Groove Culture holds many doors open at once. Wellness that lives in the body. Nightlife with soul. Community gatherings that go deeper than small talk. Cultural programming and systems consulting for people who build things.
The thread through all of it is simple. Bodies that move together stop being strangers.

The method
The GROOVE Methodology
GROOVE: Generative Rhythms of Organic Vital Ecosystems. It's a nature-based somatic practice rooted in African, Caribbean, and Latin diaspora movement traditions.
It treats the body like an ecosystem: interconnected, rhythmic, and designed the way a murmuration of birds is designed: no conductor, just shared rhythm.
Music
Nervous system technology. Rhythms that regulate, energize, and open you up.
Movement
Medicine that lives in the body. Somatic grooves drawn from diaspora traditions.
Mindfulness
The doorway in. Breathwork that brings you into your body before the first beat drops.
